Let’s smoke them!!

Have you ever heard of the term “coal rolling” or “Prius repellent”? Mm…probably not. That’s because it’s a new trend among groups of very “smart” individuals, whom are throwing tantrums because the Obama administration and the EPA, are taking care of the air we breath, the water we drink and the land we live in! “Coal rolling” or “Prius repellent” consist of blowing black smoke through an unfiltered exhaust pipe, usually targeting pedestrians and eco-friendly cars. People that usually take part in this act are “Diesel truck enthusiast” who believe that the allegations made by the government regarding the pollution effects caused by their engines are fake. So in a very “smart” form of protest, they spend about $125 dollars to fill up their tank and blast black smoke into the air!

Now, I don’t know how many of these people have stable jobs and how good their income is; but based on the high prices of diesel and considering the $500 bucks needed to install the mechanism that produces the black smoke, you would think this is a very expensive and stupid protest.. right?! Well, it is, and for some people this “coal rolling” protest is nothing more than a hobby. Something that they have done for a while and it’s just for kicks. So the constant harassment towards Prius drivers and pedestrians is not on purpose, it just happens…

EXACTLY!!
These “smarticles” are harassing people just because they are choosing not to drive a big old truck that blast smoke; not only is this childish but it’s an attack on the human right to clean air. These coal rollers are doing this in an attempt to “rebel” against the system, but perhaps they don’t realize that their rebellion just proves to the government how much these cars with diesel performing engines are harming our planet. These people are so delusional that they don’t realize that the only reason coal rolling has gotten so much media attention is because so many people want to provide proof of the dangers behind these acts, so we can report them and work on harsh punishments for them. Because in case no one knew, “rolling coal” is ILLEGAL! Only because you don’t want fresh air does not mean we don’t, so get your head out of that tail pipe and do something productive with your life—STOP POLLUTING!!

Fossil Fuel is my BFF!!!?

Fossil fuels are buried dead organism compilations used by human being to produce greenhouse gasses like emissions of carbon dioxide. Fossil fuels are very important in the production of oil, which we all use to heat, electricity and transportation!! Fossil Fuels are necessary, especially during the winter! If we keep constantly using them, we can keep generating natural heat, which will eventually will keep changing the climate all over the world and generate heat waves!

Oh wait… that sounds like Global Warming, hum? Well, that’s because that’s exactly what it is!!!

One of the main factors of global warming is the usage of fossil fuels to generate emissions of carbon dioxide, which we mostly use in our cars—as in GAS! Due to the high quantities of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere the average temperature degree has risen up to about a quarter of a degree Fahrenheit in the past decade, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported back in 2012.

But for big oil corporations like EXXON, that is not important nor directly their fault. They believe that climate change is due to natural reasons that have nothing to do with how much they are polluting the earth with their constant use of the greenhouse gas. Their CEO, Rex Tillerson believes that, technology will eventually help control the climate change.

Well, sir, technology did find a way and you rejected!! It’s an innovative technological system called “STOP USING FOSSIL FUELS!!” or at least try to set goals that would reduce the usage of greenhouse gases, like the proposal that you rejected laid out.

But let’s not judge this poor soul so harshly, after all he did it for HUMANITY! (Everyone says) AWWW!! Tillerson only wants to stop the suffrage of humans, take them out of poverty—so they can enjoy the polluted air, contaminated waters and die happily in a massive heat wave! But what he “doesn’t know” is that regardless of social status that’s how we all live and will die thanks to his company and other big oil corporations.

The saddest thing of all is that the government funds these fossil fuel companies, and if we don’t keep fighting and pushing for better EPA regulations and environment policies; individuals like Rex Tillerson, will keep getting away with saying things like “What good is it to save the planet if humanity suffers?” Humanity also suffers due to the climate changes caused by fossil fuels, because our homes are being destroyed and we are being exposed to temperatures that we aren’t accustomed to. So please, let’s hustle and keep lobbying, we can’t keep letting them use human suffrage as a cover up for them not wanting to reduce greenhouse gas usage in order to keep the cash rolling in!

 

Companies Fighting Pollution

LET’S PROTECT OUR H2O!

One of the most important compounds in our lives is water; we use it to hydrate, shower, cook, and get the food… I. e. for survival! So if water is so essential in our life, why are there people who are so invested in taking away the protection of our precious waterways? Well, there are some people in congress (The majority of the House of Representatives) that have the absurd idea that the EPA, wants to be protect certain waterways in order to make sure the government can use them to “increase the federal government’s authority, bypass Congressional intent, and trample on states’ rights.” The EPA, however, is the government agency responsible for the security of our environment; that’s the only purpose it was designed. The need to have the EPA take so much control over our waterways is due to increasing pollutants that we—the citizens of this country, have done to our own wetlands, rivers and oceans. If we had been taking better care of our waterways and the EPA would be allowed more control, perhaps we would not have snakeheads running free through the Potomac River, destroying our ecosystem.

When plants, animals, foods, etc. come here from other countries, more than half of the time we are unaware of the dangerous those things represent for our environment and then we have a crisis of ecosystem destruction and the EPA is blamed for, although they cannot work around all the restrictions they have. So is it harmful for the EPA to obtain more control over our waterways?

Hum… NO! Well, unless you are one of the farmers from Oklahoma, and convinced that the government is just trying to find a way to grab and control your land and make sure that they are “limiting” your use of it. These farmers are outraged because they feel like they should not be asking the government permission to continue working their land; which is very understandable, however, the government is not trying to control farming and the productivity of these ranches; their purpose is for the EPA to be aware of the ways that the waterways are being used, to make sure that these aren’t getting polluted, make sure they are safe and that everyone can benefit from them. But these aren’t good enough reasons for those farmers because they are convinced that the EPA is protecting these waterways in order to make sure the President and the Senate can take their lands and get some economic benefit from them. So these poor souls are bravely standing up to defend their “economic freedom” and keep intruders ( the government) out of their lands!

Make you wonder what they could be doing, that the monitoring of the EPA would be so intruding? Whatever it is, if there is something, and I believe there is—we will perhaps find out some day, but as for now we just have to hope that the elections from last night do not harm us in a negative way, and that our streams continue to be protected and clean. We need to keep pushing if not very soon we may be drinking contaminated water. Let’s keep lobbying, and get laws like the H.R. 5078 overridden.

 

ALERT: Environmental Threat!!

The Anti-environmental Riders are a set of requests or “improvements” being pushed by the Republican Party so the government can contribute less money to our environmental policies. The riders argue that we are doing too much spending on the preservation of wildlife, air, health and the land. In 2012, these crazy nuts thought that by forming a very “detailed” bill they could get away with taking most of the funding that the government provides the environmental agencies with. Which BTW is not a whole heck of a lot! Their document was an absolute joke, it does not provide any type of evidence to back the claims, and how could it? Since who in their right mind would want to destroy their home? Oh yeah… FOOLS! Who are moved by money and power and have peanut size brains which disable them from realizing that they are killing themselves by hurting the earth.

President Obama and the Democratic Party, however, decided to stand up so that the Anti-environmental Riders would not be successful with all their crazy demands. Unfortunately, some of the Riders did make it in to the 2013 budget.

One of the most Ludacris riders was the “Preventing the proper labeling of Toxic Pesticides”, which argues that the EPA cannot keep spending money clarifying which claims are true and which are false and thus they will only allow pesticide companies that have been “honest” to keep operating and distributing pesticides. But doesn’t it occur to the people writing this rider that this can backfire! Hum… couldn’t this open opportunities for companies to lie or commit fraud and operate in a careless way because they will not be monitored and eventually lead to more corruption. Another ridiculous rider that was included in this bill was section 444: which takes away the funding that EPA used to “implement the landmark National Program for new vehicle fuel economy and greenhouse emissions improvements…”this rider will prevent the EPA to do this starting with car models from the year 2017.

 

This means that even if we buy an ecological car we would be wasting a lot on gas and possibly ending a program that is in the works in California. This program has the potential to possibly save up to “2.5 million barrels per day in 2030, roughly equivalent to US imports from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Nigeria and Libya today”. Does anyone see the pattern—MONEY! All these riders have been created to save money for the Republicans, and perhaps spend it on weapons and the endless wars we don’t seem to want to end. This is why we need to keep lobbying and advocating for better environmental policies because if we don’t, these riders will keep getting passed by congress and we will end up killing ourselves. We need to be aggressive and active environmental leaders to see the change we want!
